Media Library
Overview
The Media Library feature allows you to upload, manage, and share various images within your club. It holds all the images you upload in various parts of the website, in addition to images you've uploaded directly.
Accessing the Media Library
- Navigate to the Site Builder menu group.
- Click on the "Media" menu item.
Adding an Image
- Click the "Upload New Media" button.
- Click "Select File" to upload a new image.
- The image will appear in the modal popup. Click the "Upload" button to upload the image to the system.
- You will return to the grid view of the images you have uploaded. Find the image you just uploaded, and click on it to open the details screen for this image.
- Title: This field is used to identify the image in the library. Use a name that will help you with searching images in the future. If you have multiple versions of the same image (perhaps one cropped very small, and another that's larger), it will be helpful to indicate this in the Title, e.g., "Park image 2024 cropped" and "Park image 2024 800x1200".
- Alt Text: Description of image used in the website, important for search engines, screen readers, and other assistive technologies. Learn about Alt Text.
- Caption: This may be displayed on photo album slideshows.In this screen, you can set the following details for this image.
- There are also details about the image on this screen, including original file name, file size, and a direct link to the image.
Once you've saved the details, you are returned to the main grid view of the images in your Media Library. You'll notice that the Title you set on any images will display below the thumbnail. If you're trying to search for an image, you'll notice that it's cataloged the Titles you have set.
Additional Notes
Images that you upload in other content areas, like header images, promo blocks, or editor content on pages, will also appear in the Media Library. It's useful to periodically update such images in the library with at least a Title, so that you can tell at a glance from the main Media page what each image is, and can better distinguish similar images if you've searched for something.
