Page Content Sections - Promo Blocks (3) Section

Use the Promo Blocks (3) Section when you want to place up to three specific promo blocks together on a page.

What this section is for

This section is useful for highlighting important pages, registrations, campaigns, member benefits, or featured content.

Helpful details:

  • In the section menu, this layout is labeled Promo Blocks, 3 Blocks.
  • You can choose up to three promo blocks in the Promos field.
  • Selected promo blocks keep the order chosen in the section.
  • The section only renders promo blocks that are still active.
  • On default pages, the section uses the main page content area.
  • On landing pages, the section content is wrapped inside a centered container.

Fields in the Promo Blocks (3) Section

Section Title

Use Section Title to help identify this section while editing the page.

Helpful detail:

  • This field does not appear on the website.

Background Color

Use Background Color to generate the supporting colors for the section.

Helpful details:

  • The chosen color affects hover overlays, borders, button styling, and text contrast.
  • Some templates do not show the section background very strongly, but they still use the generated color set.
  • If no color has been saved, the section falls back to a primary color option.

Template

Use Template to choose how the promo blocks should look on the page.

Available options:

  • Promo Blocks - 3 Blocks, vertical with image, headline, text and button
  • Promo Blocks - 3 Blocks, vertical with headline, text and button
  • Promo Blocks - 3 Blocks, background image with headline centered on image
  • Promo Blocks - 3 Blocks, background image with headline at bottom on image

Helpful details:

  • The two vertical templates can show headline, text, and button text.
  • The image version of the vertical template also shows each promo block image.
  • The two background-image templates show the image and headline only.
  • In the background-image templates, the promo block's text and button text do not display.

Promos

Use Promos to choose which promo blocks should appear in the section.

Helpful details:

  • You can select up to three promo blocks.
  • The field is required, but it does not require exactly three selections.
  • If a selected promo block is later marked inactive, it stops displaying in this section.

Active

Use Active to control whether this section is included when the page is rendered.

Helpful detail:

  • If Active is turned off, the section stays in the page editor but does not appear on the website.

Important behavior to know

  • This section can display one, two, or three promo blocks depending on what you select and which selected promo blocks are still active.
  • Promo blocks appear in the same order stored in the section.
  • Every promo block links to the URL saved on that promo block.
  • Promo blocks marked as external links open in a new browser tab.
  • The vertical templates can show the promo headline, optional text, and optional button text.
  • The background-image templates only show the promo image and headline.
  • Any custom CSS class saved on a promo block is still applied when the block renders in this section.
  • On interior pages, promo blocks already placed in this section are excluded from the sidebar promo rotation on that same page.

  4. Click Add new section.
  5. Choose Promo Blocks, 3 Blocks.
  6. Enter a Section Title for internal reference.

  8. Choose a Template.

Practical setup tips

  • Keep the selected promo blocks closely related so the section feels intentional.
  • Use shorter headlines for the background-image templates, since those layouts rely on the headline alone.
  • Use the vertical templates when the promo text and button label are important.
  • Make sure image-based promo blocks have strong, readable images before using the image-focused templates.
  • Review the order in the section if one promo should appear first.
  • If you do not want a promo block to appear anywhere, mark that promo block inactive.

If the section is not behaving as expected

Check these items first:

  • the page was saved after your edits
  • the section's Active toggle is turned on
  • no more than three promo blocks were selected
  • the selected promo blocks are still active
  • the promo blocks have the fields needed for the template you chose
  • image-based templates are being used only with promo blocks that have usable images
  • the selection order in Promos matches the order you expect to see
