Page Content Sections - E-Commerce Section

Use the E-Commerce Section when you want to show products from your club's online store on a page.

What this section is for

This section is useful for a main store page, a featured products area, or a page focused on one product category.

Helpful details:

  • The section only renders when the store is active.
  • It can show all active products or products from one active category.
  • Products are sorted by their saved sort order.
  • When no headline level is chosen, the section uses H2.
  • On default pages, the section uses the main page content area.
  • On landing pages, the section content is wrapped inside a centered container.

Before you use this section

Make sure these pieces are ready first:

  • Settings > E-Commerce is enabled for the club
  • products have been created
  • categories have been created if you want category-based browsing

Helpful detail:

  • The Club Management Portal helper text also points admins to payment setup documentation, but this section's rendering check is whether the store itself is active.

Fields in the E-Commerce Section

Section Title

Use Section Title to help identify this section while editing the page.

Helpful detail:

  • This field does not appear on the website.

Headline

Use Headline when you want a visible title above the product list.

Headline Level

Use Headline Level to choose the heading level for the section title.

Helpful details:

  • Available options are H1, H2, H3, and H4.
  • If you do not choose one, the section defaults to H2.
  • Most pages should use H2 here unless this is the main page heading.

Categories

Use Categories to decide whether the section shows all products or one category.

Helpful details:

  • Show All displays active products from across the store.
  • Choosing a specific category displays products from that one active category.
  • The dropdown can include inactive categories marked with (inactive), but the frontend only renders an active category.
  • When the setting is blank or Show All, the section also loads the active category list for the frontend selector.

Product Limit

Use Product Limit when you want to show only a certain number of products.

Helpful details:

  • Leave it blank to show all matching products.
  • Enter a number such as 3, 4, or 6 for a smaller featured-products section.

Active

Use Active to control whether this section is included when the page is rendered.

Helpful detail:

  • If Active is turned off, the section stays in the page editor but does not appear on the website.

Important behavior to know

  • When the section is set to Show All, it loads active categories and active products sorted by Sort Order.
  • When the section is set to one category, it loads products from that active category only.
  • The frontend category selector is only included when the section is set to Show All or left blank and there are active categories to show.
  • Each product card links to that product's detail page.
  • Each product card shows the product name, product image, the first available option price, any stock or options note, and a View Item button.
  • The current section template does not show a short product description in the product card.
  • If there are no matching products, the section shows No products to show.
  • Store alert messages can appear above the product list when the store needs to surface cart availability feedback.

  3. Open the page you want to edit.
  4. Go to the Page Content area.
  5. Click Add new section.
  6. Choose E-Commerce Section.
  7. Enter a Section Title for internal reference.
  8. Add a Headline if you want one.
  9. Choose a Headline Level if needed.
  10. Choose Categories.
  11. Add a Product Limit if you want a shorter list.
  12. Make sure Active is turned on.
  13. Save the page and review it on the website.

Practical setup tips

  • Use Show All on a main store page when you want visitors to browse across categories.
  • Choose one category when you want a simpler focused product section without the all-store selector behavior.
  • Use a smaller Product Limit for homepage or landing-page highlights.
  • Review product Sort Order so featured items appear first.
  • Keep product images consistent so the grid feels more polished.
  • Avoid using H1 here unless this section is truly the main page heading.

If the section is not behaving as expected

Check these items first:

  • the store is enabled in Settings > E-Commerce
  • the page was saved after your edits
  • the section's Active toggle is turned on
  • the products you expect to see are active
  • the category you selected is still active
  • the Product Limit is not smaller than you intended
  • you selected Show All if you expected the frontend category selector to appear
