Page Content Sections - FAQs Section

Use the FAQs Section when you want to show selected frequently asked questions on a page in an expandable list.

What this section is for

This section pulls in existing FAQs based on the categories you choose.

It works well for:

  • a general FAQ page
  • topic-specific question groups
  • membership or event help pages
  • pages that need short, expandable answers instead of long paragraphs

Helpful details:

  • Questions appear as collapsible items.
  • Opening one answer closes the previously opened answer in that section.
  • The section only shows active FAQs assigned to the selected categories.

Fields in the FAQs Section

Section Title

Use Section Title to help your team identify the section while editing the page.

Helpful detail:

  • This title is internal only. It is not shown on the website.

Background Color

Use Background Color to control the color styling for the question blocks in this section.

Helpful details:

  • This setting styles the FAQ blocks, not the full page background.
  • If you choose white, the accent colors are based on your site's Primary Color settings.

Headline

Use Headline if you want a visible heading above the FAQ list.

Headline Level

Use Headline Level to choose the heading level in the editor.

Helpful detail:

  • The field is available in the editor, but the current website output displays the section headline as an H2.

Categories

Use Categories to choose which FAQ categories should feed this section.

Helpful details:

  • You must choose at least one category.
  • The dropdown uses active categories.
  • Only active FAQs assigned to the selected categories are shown here.

Active

Use Active to control whether this section is included when the page is rendered.

Helpful detail:

  • If Active is turned off, the section stays in the page editor but does not appear on the website.

Important behavior to know

  • FAQs are managed separately in the main FAQs area of the Club Management Portal.
  • This section does not create the questions itself. It only displays matching FAQs.
  • The website shows the FAQs in their saved order.
  • FAQ answers render using the saved FAQ content.
  • If you want an introduction above the FAQ list, add a Simple Text Section before this section.

How to add an FAQs Section to a page

  1. Make sure the FAQ items already exist in FAQs.
  2. Make sure those FAQ items are assigned to the categories you want to use.
  3. Open the page you want to edit.
  4. Go to the Page Content area.
  5. Click Add new section.
  6. Choose FAQs Section.
  7. Enter a Section Title for internal reference.
  8. Choose a Background Color.
  9. Add a Headline if you want one.
  10. Set Headline Level if needed.
  11. Select one or more Categories.
  12. Make sure Active is turned on.
  13. Save the page.
  14. Review the page on the website.

Practical setup tips

  • Use focused categories so the page does not become too long.
  • Write questions in the same plain language your members would use.
  • Keep answers clear and direct.
  • If the page needs context or instructions, place a Simple Text Section above the FAQ list.
  • Review the saved FAQ order if the questions are not appearing in the order you expect.

If the section is not behaving as expected

Check these items first:

  • the page was saved after your edits
  • the section's Active toggle is turned on
  • at least one category was selected
  • the FAQs you expect are active
  • the FAQs you expect are assigned to one of the selected categories
  • the issue is not coming from the FAQ content itself
