Photo Albums

Photo Albums let you group images together and display them on a page as a thumbnail grid or a slideshow. Create albums here, then place them on pages using the Photo Album Section.

Creating or editing an album

  1. Go to Photo Albums under Site Builder.
  2. Click Create Photo Album, or open an existing one.
  3. Enter the Name — this becomes the visible heading when the album is displayed on a page, so make it clear and specific.
  4. Leave Active on if the album is ready to use.
  5. Click Add Images to open the image chooser.
  6. Select the images you want from the Media Library, then click Save & Close.
  7. Drag the thumbnails into the order you want visitors to see them.
  8. Save.

Working with album images

Adding images: Click Add Images to select from your media library. You can pick multiple images at once. New selections are added to the end of the album — drag them into position after.

Reordering: The saved order is the order visitors see, both in grid and slideshow views. Put your strongest image first, especially for slideshows.

Removing images: Click the X on a thumbnail to remove it from the album. This only removes it from this album — it doesn't delete the file from the media library.

Image details: Albums use the alt text, title, and caption saved on the underlying media files. If an image has a caption, it can appear in the larger viewer or slideshow.

How albums appear on the website

Albums are displayed through the Photo Album Section on a page. The page section lets you choose between a Thumbnail Grid and a Slideshow layout:

  • Grid — Shows thumbnails that visitors can click to open a larger image viewer.
  • Slideshow — Shows one image at a time with navigation controls.

The album name appears as the section heading.

Tips

  • Use similar image proportions within an album, especially for slideshows.
  • Stay under the 10MB upload limit for each image.
  • Reorder images after adding a batch so the opening images are your strongest.
  • If you deactivate an album, also check any pages that use it and remove or replace the section.

If an album isn't working as expected

  • Is the album marked Active?
  • Is the page section pointing to the correct album?
  • Were the images saved in the order you intended?
  • Do the shared media files still exist?
  • Was the page saved after changing album or section settings?
