Photo Albums

Use Photo Albums to group multiple images together and display them on a page as a gallery or slideshow.

What Photo Albums are

Photo Albums are reusable image collections for your website.

Helpful details:

  • Each album has a Name, an Active setting, and a group of selected images.
  • The album Name becomes the visible heading when the album is shown on a page.
  • Albums are added to pages through the Photo Album Section.
  • The order of images inside the album controls the order visitors see.
  • The images come from your shared media library through the album image chooser.

Create or update a photo album

  1. Go to Photo Albums in the Club Management Portal.
  2. Click Create Photo Album, or open an existing album to edit it.
  3. Enter the album Name.
  4. Leave Active turned on if the album is ready to use.
  5. Click Add Images.
  6. Select the images you want, then click Save & Close.
  7. Drag and drop the selected images into the order you want.
  8. Save the album.

Main fields

Name

The Name is required.

Helpful details:

  • This is not only an internal label.
  • When the album is displayed on a page, the album name is shown as the section heading.
  • Clear, specific names make page setup easier later.

Active

The Active setting is turned on by default.

Helpful details:

  • Active albums appear in the Photo Album dropdown when someone adds a Photo Album Section to a page.
  • Turning an album inactive is a good way to stop using it in new page sections.
  • If an older page is already using that album, also review the page itself so you can remove or replace the section if needed.

Images

The image area is managed through a custom photo album chooser.

Helpful details:

  • Click Add Images to open the image chooser.
  • The chooser lets you pick from your shared media library.
  • Images that are already in the album cannot be selected again in that chooser.
  • After choosing images, click Save & Close to return to the album.
  • Drag and drop the thumbnails to rearrange them.
  • Click the X on an image to remove it from this album.

Important detail:

  • Removing an image from a photo album removes it from this album only. It does not delete the shared media file itself.

Working with album images

Add images

Use Add Images whenever you want to expand the album.

Helpful details:

  • The chooser includes search, which can help when your media library is large.
  • You can select multiple images before clicking Save & Close.
  • New selections are added to the end of the album, and then you can drag them into a different order.

Reorder images

The selected image order matters.

Helpful details:

  • The saved order is preserved when the album is displayed on the website.
  • This affects both grid-style albums and slideshow-style albums.
  • Put the strongest opening image first, especially for slideshow use.

Use image details already saved on the media

Photo albums use details that belong to the underlying image when those details exist.

Helpful details:

  • Images use their saved Alt Text on the website.
  • In grid displays, image titles are available on the thumbnail links.
  • If an image already has a caption, Clubistry can show that caption in the larger viewer or slideshow.

How photo albums display on the website

Photo albums are shown through the Photo Album Section on a page.

Helpful details:

  • The visible heading comes from the album name.
  • The page section can show the album as a Thumbnail Grid or a Slideshow.
  • In grid style, visitors can click a thumbnail to open a larger image viewer.
  • In slideshow style, visitors move through one image at a time using the section controls.
  • If captions exist on the images, they can appear in the larger viewer/slideshow.

Practical setup tips

  • Use a clear album name that will still make sense as a public heading.
  • Keep related images together so each album feels focused.
  • Use similar image proportions when possible, especially for slideshows.
  • Stay under the 10MB upload limit for each image.
  • Reorder images after every larger upload so the opening images are your strongest ones.
  • Review the finished album on the actual page after saving.

If a photo album is not behaving as expected

Check these items first:

  • the album is still marked Active if you want to select it in a page section
  • the page section is pointing to the correct album
  • the images were saved in the order you intended
  • the shared media files still exist
  • the page was saved after you changed the album or section settings
