Header Images
Header Images are the wide banner images that appear at the top of pages using the Default layout. They bring visual interest to your site and give pages a polished, professional feel. Each time a page loads, Clubistry randomly selects one active header image from your collection — so visitors see variety across the site.
Pages using the Landing layout don't show header images.
Creating a header image
- Go to Header Images under Site Builder.
- Click Create Header Image.
- Enter a Name (internal label only — visitors won't see this).
- Upload the image and crop it to the required 4.5:1 aspect ratio.
- Leave Active on if it should be eligible for display.
- Save.
Image requirements
- The crop is 4.5:1 — very wide and short. Landscape-style images work well, and the focal point or primary subject doesn't have to be centered — some of the most striking header images place it in the left or right third of the frame.
- The maximum upload size is 10MB, but keeping files around 150KB or smaller is recommended for performance.
- After uploading, use the crop controls in the field before saving.
The tight crop can feel challenging at first, but once you start looking at your images with that wide format in mind, you'll find great options. Look for images with strong horizontal composition or interesting detail that works well when cropped short.
How it works on the website
- One active header image is chosen at random on each page load.
- If there are no active header images with usable media, no banner appears.
- You can't assign specific header images to specific pages — the rotation is site-wide across all Default layout pages.
- If you don't want header images at all, deactivate or remove all of them.
Tips
- Don't put text inside the image — it may be unreadable at certain screen sizes.
- Keep several active images if you want variety.
- Deactivate seasonal or outdated images instead of deleting them right away.
If header images aren't appearing
- Is at least one image marked Active?
- Does that image have media attached?
- Is the page using the Default layout (not Landing)?
- Has the page been refreshed?
