Roster
Use Roster to display a member directory on the website for the audiences you allow to see it.
How the roster is added to a page
The roster is displayed through the Roster page-content section.
Many clubs use the seeded roster page under the Members section, but the section can also be placed on another page if you prefer.
Helpful detail:
- the seeded
rosterpage sits under the seeded Members area withdashboard-memberandprofile
Who can see which view
The page permissions on the page containing the roster control who can open it.
Once someone can access the roster:
- regular members see the Member View
- board, admin, and super admin users can switch between Member View and Board View
Helpful detail:
- when board-capable users are viewing the roster, the page shows a notice explaining which view they are using
Roster settings that affect what is shown
Current roster output depends on roster-related settings.
These include:
roster-membership-typesto filter which membership types appearroster-member-columnsfor the member-view column list and orderroster-board-columnsfor the board-view column list and order
Member custom fields that are configured for roster use are appended as additional columns.
Privacy rules on the roster
The roster uses roster privacy settings from the member profile.
Relevant roster privacy fields include:
show_email_rostershow_phone_rostershow_address_roster
Helpful detail:
- these are different from the board-page privacy fields such as
show_email_board,show_phone_board, andshow_address_board
How board view handles privacy
Board-capable viewers can access a board roster view, but whether that view honors member privacy depends on a setting.
Helpful detail:
- if
roster-board-honors-privacyis enabled, board view respects the roster privacy settings - if that setting is disabled, board view can show contact information regardless of those roster privacy choices
The on-page roster notice tells board-capable viewers which behavior is currently active.
CSV download
The current roster output includes a Download Roster (CSV) link with the roster itself.
Helpful details:
- there is not a separate roster-section setting for showing or hiding that button in the current implementation
- the download switches between member and board exports based on the current view
- board CSV downloads require board, admin, or super admin access
What the export uses
The CSV export follows the same core rules as the visible roster.
It uses:
- the current member or board column settings
- the roster membership-type filter
- the applicable privacy behavior
- roster custom-field headings appended after the configured columns
Practical setup tips
- Review page permissions first if the wrong audience can see the roster.
- Review roster settings if expected columns are missing or out of order.
- Review member privacy settings if email, phone, or address data is unexpectedly blank.
- Review the
roster-board-honors-privacysetting before telling board members what they will see. - If expected members are missing, check the roster membership-type filter.
