Actions

Use Actions to run tasks directly from the Club Management Portal without opening a separate tool. Actions can help you check membership status, record a payment, assign a membership type, connect a membership type to Stripe, or send an email.

What an action is

  • An action is a button or menu option that performs a task for one or more records.
  • Some actions run immediately.
  • Other actions open a small form first so you can enter a date, amount, note, or another setting.

Where to find actions

On a detail page

  1. Open the record you want to work with.
  2. Look for the Actions menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Choose the action you want to run.
  4. Complete any requested fields and save.

On an index page

  1. Go to a list page such as Members or Membership Renewals.
  2. Select one or more records using the checkbox column.
  3. Open the Actions dropdown.
  4. Choose the action you want to run.
  5. Complete any requested fields and save.

Inline actions and shortcut buttons

  • Some actions appear directly in the list instead of inside the Actions dropdown.
  • For example, Check Membership Status and Connect to Stripe can appear as inline actions.
  • The Pay shortcut on Membership Renewals opens the renewal and then launches Manually Register Dues Payment.

Why you may not see every action

  • The actions you see depend on your role.
  • Some actions are available only on the detail page.
  • Some actions appear only when the record is in the right status.
  • Some actions are limited to Administrators.

Common member actions

  • Check Membership Status re-checks renewal processing for a member.
  • Email Account Information sends the member their account-information email.
  • Register Payment records a payment from the member record.
  • Send User Password Reset Email sends a reset link to the member's email address.
  • Assign Membership Type updates the selected member account to a different membership type.
  • Send Email Notification sends an active renewal reminder to selected members.

Common renewal and membership type actions

  • Manually Register Dues Payment records a payment for one renewal.
  • Connect to Stripe attempts to connect a membership type to Stripe if the automatic connection did not happen.

Tips before you run an action

  • Read the confirmation message before saving.
  • If an action opens a form, fill in every field that matters to the task.
  • If you are working with payments, review the amount due before saving.
  • If you are sending reminder emails, check whether the member has opted in to receive electronic communications.
  • If you are using a bulk action, double-check which records are selected.
